There are many reasons why people come to therapy. For most, initially, it's a problem that has become unmanageable--perhaps
a conflicted relationship, a major change, a recent loss or an illness. For others it may be challenges with stress, anxiety,
depression, irritability or lack of focus without an easily identifiable cause. Still others may have noticed significant changes
in sleep patterns or appetite, find themselves wanting to make a career change or are concerned about a family member.
And some are simply dissatisfied with life as they know it and would like to explore possibilities for personal and
spiritual growth in order to improve the quality of every aspect of their lives.
Each of us would like to experience life to the fullest--the most love, joy, health, success
and happiness possible. To the extent that we can know, understand, and communicate who we are, we can make more of
our dreams come true.
In the pursuit of our dreams, life often requires us to negotiate unexpected twists and turns on the path leading to our destination. Unresolved losses, failures, and hurts from the past may get in the
way of our dealing with life's bumps in the road effectively, and some of the simplest tasks can become overwhelming.
Psychotherapy can be a helpful--often life-changing--process through which new ways of resolving
problems are explored, increased understanding and awareness of oneself and others are achieved, communication skills
are enhanced; and the past is healed, thereby opening new passageways toward deeper, more fulfilling relationships and
greater success in all areas of one's life.
It is an opportunity for us to become more of who we were meant to be, and to have more of what we
have always wanted.
